IBE anniversary - Methodology and responsible research for health

We invite you on 9 November 2024 to have a look back at the work and development of the IBE and to venture a look into the future. The IBE has existed since the founding of Großhadern Hospital in 1974 and was headed by Prof. Dr. Karl Überla for 30 years.

In 2004, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Mansmann was appointed as the new director and Chair of Biometry and Bioinformatics. The IBE also included a Chair of Epidemiology, which was held by Prof. Dr. Dr. Erich Wichmann and was located at Helmholtzzentrum, Munich. Prof. Dr. Annette Peters is the current chair holder. In 2018, the IBE has been supplemented by a further chair on Public Health and health services research, which is held by Prof. Dr. Eva Rehfuess.
