Second Lancet publication of the TRIANGLE trial

The TRIANGLE randomized controlled trial which demonstrated that toxic autologous stem cell transplantation in mantle cell lymphoma can be replaced by an oral drug, was planned and statistically monitored by Prof. Dr. Eva Hoster on behalf of the European MCL Network.

Hoster-JiangThe most recent results of the European, investigator-initiated, three-arm TRIANGLE trial confirm a markedly improved overall survival time of patients under 66 years of age with the rare mantle cell lymphoma. The newly established standard of care combines an oral drug with an immunochemotherapy and omits the previously standard, toxic autologous stem cell transplantation. Through sophisticated biometrical planning, trial monitoring, and statistical analysis, Prof. Dr. Eva Hoster and her PhD student Linmiao Jiang from the Chair of Medical Biometry at the IBE contributed substantially to the international success of the TRIANGLE trial.
