Research Interest
Dermatological diseases are particularly frequent as they are the fourth common cause of all human illness, affecting approximately one third of the world’s population. There are 3,000 known skin diseases which vary in their severity and symptoms such as simple burning or disfigurements or even morbidity. Skin conditions can occur to anybody at any age and it is estimated that all people will suffer from at least one skin disease during their lifetime. However, there are noticeable difference in reported prevalence data as secondary data does not include people who treat themselves or dispense with therapeutic measures. Therefore, the main idea of my project is to examine the “real-life” prevalence of specific skin conditions and the related need for treatment.
